Mandatory Reporter Training – In-Person

This training will be held at 7190 Colorado Blvd, Suite 300, Commerce City.

The goal is to discuss mandatory reporting within the context of the child welfare system as a whole, with a focus on supporting families. It’s a facilitated discussion around:

·        What child abuse & neglect is, as defined by Colorado law

·        How to figure out when you should make a call

·        Tips for making a good hotline call

·        What happens after a hotline call, eg, how it’s determined what kind of child welfare action will be taken, if any

·        Overview of the child welfare system & tips for how to be a support for families

·        Discussion of the shift in child welfare to a Differential Response model and how that might impact you and the families you work with

·        Discussion of Adams County’s prevention program and how it fits into mandatory reporting
