Register now for Speak Up for Kids on March 14!
Online registration is now open for our March 14 Speak Up for Kids Day at the Capitol, hosted in partnership with Children’s Hospital Colorado and Clayton Early Learning. https://salsa4.salsalabs.com/o/50897/p/salsa/event/common/public/?event_KEY=10544

Join new and emerging child advocates from across Colorado in learning about the policy making process, reviewing pending legislation impacting Colorado kids, and meeting with the state legislators who represent you to remind them to make kids a priority. Our day begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Scottish Rites Masonic Center with breakfast and insight from Representative Lois Landgraf, R-El Paso County and Representative James Coleman, D-Denver, an overview of priority early childhood development and child health bills under consideration by the Colorado General Assembly, preparation with your neighbors and an Advocacy Coach to prepare for visits with your state legislators, and time at the Colorado State Capitol to lobby your legislators directly. Upon return from the Capitol we’ll have lunch and hear from a panel of child advocates who will inspire continued advocacy for Colorado kids, an afternoon workshop to continue building your skills, and networking time to explore future advocacy opportunities with your peers.
Speak Up for Kids is designed for people who do not have extensive experience with advocacy and lobbying. If you are a more experienced child advocate, please consider serving as an Advocacy Coach or Advocacy Coach Assistant. Advocacy coaches are a critical part of the day and we couldn’t make Speak Up for Kids possible without them! Not only do Advocacy Coaches and Assistants get to attend the event, but they also help to create a memorable and inspiring experience for our attendees.

While ECPAC does not automatically support the same legislative priorities as the Colorado Children’s Campaign, we do follow their work closely to best stay informed.  Their website offers a wealth of information on how to best advocate, what policies are impacting young children and families, data and research that is prudent, and upcoming events to support policy efforts: http://www.coloradokids.org/
